VerifiedHeidi W.July 12, 2022.If your into WWI or WWII stuff this guy has it. His shop is just a small fraction of what he's got. Full of information and knowledge and the house has some cool history as well. Come check this place out while in town.VerifiedEric B.January 1, 2022.Sometimes looks can be deceiving. On the outside is a pretty 2-story grren house with a white picket fence. Inside (and at least on the first floor) are several room chock full of often-cool, sometimes "huh?" surplus-related "stuff". Walking in reminded me of the old Morley's Book Store and maybe Petersunn's Antiques in Genoa. As it turns out, the owner (Gary) knows these guys and has traded with them. I couldn't even begin to understand the purpose and background for much of this merchandise. At the same time, ask and Gary will offer you a clear explanation. Then there's the dense "layers of the onion" aspect this place. I was pleased to finally get out of here with a cute little utility knife, but left wanting to return soon and dig in some more. But that might take hours.VerifiedChris W.August 30, 2020.We were driving around Lake Tahoe, took a wrong turn and ended up in Carson city. We came across this little gem while driving around. It was a great find. We got there at closing time, the gentleman said we could look while he closed up if we wanted. Probably the best shop I've been in in quite a long time. I could spend hours looking at all the things they had there. I will be making the 3hr trip back and will spend the hours needed to see everything the place has to offer.VerifiedMarat S.August 28, 2020.I used to collect and dig in my home country , Russia , and our fields full of treasure . My partner bought a house in Carson . I'm like , ok , I'm gonna visit . Plus my uncle had his anniversary soon - so I though I'll buy him something sharp My first antiques and Militaria experience here in Carson was horrible. I'm not gonna mention the place where I were . WestWall Militaria looks like my dream store, my dream place. Like if I own a lot of stuff- and I will put it like this. I came there and store was closed... I'm going around the building .. man , and I see all that sexy daggers hanging on the walls , and I'm like I NEED TO GET THERE. I saw a note on a door - I called - and I felt like I'm at home. Definitely recommend Mr.Gary and his beautiful store . That's a place for antique lover , collector , artist... Thank you GaryVerifiedThekolstad ..June 8, 2019.This is one of the best military antique shops I've ever found; and certainly not for lack of trying. Searching every military surplus equipment and antiques shop within a hundred and fifty mile radius, you won't find anything that compares to the diversity and excellent condition of vintage military antiques and collectibles featured in this beautiful shop. The owner, Gary, is polite, accommodating, and highly knowledgeable of his inventory. I was looking for a simple tote for my iPad and found dozens of different styles to choose from. When I found the perfect one and it didn't have a price tag, Gary accepted my first offer and provided me with a little history on the item's original use and suggested alternative methods of carry with the strap I would be using. This business deserves my highest recommendation, and I will definitely be going back!VerifiedTim H.December 29, 2015.Came in to look around and I must say very impressive. The owner is very honest and knowledgeable. Lots of stuff, and I got one item for my collection but looking forward to getting something else soon. Gary, will for those who look for good rare items from WWII, do layaways, which makes it so much easier to obtain rare items from that time period. Worth the drive in the cold to visit!VerifiedAndrew Y.July 23, 2015.This is a small shop in a home off the main road. It has great stock, and good prices. The store has everything from civil war tinypes, uniforms, helmets, to old medical kits. Amazingly, I came out with a 1964 Sea scout Manual, and he had a case with more Boy scout items, which was odd, but good for me! Come here for your military surplus needs!Yelp rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 7 reviews
