Offered here is an original WWII-era Mark 10X aircraft compass produced for the U.S. Navy and manufactured by the highly respected Kollsman Instrument Division. This model was used in naval aircraft including the Vought OS2U Kingfisher, the Navy’s observation and floatplane scout aircraft.
A superb piece of wartime aviation history, this compass would have guided naval aviators over open ocean, during reconnaissance missions, and in coordination with fleet operations throughout the Pacific and Atlantic theaters.
